Packington Memorial Hall 2020 AGM – 17th March

Today saw the annual Packington Horticultural show, culminating in the auction of produce from village gardeners. The produce was entered in the morning in both junior and adult categories, judged and then the amazing plants, vegetables, cakes and chutneys auctioned off in support of the society. A very successful village event held in the Memorial Hall.
The Packington Memorial Hall open evening was a complete success. We had exhibits from groups who regularly hold meetings and events in the hall, as well as other groups of interest in the village. For more details please see the pages coming soon to the PMHV.uk website highlighting the available groups.

A brand new feature of google maps allows people to see the street view at different periods in time. We have been very fortunate that the car taking the pictures went through Packington in 2009, as the hall was being re-built. So now we can see the hall being reconstructed into the modern events venue that it is today:
Not only is the building work visible but a closer look at the picture shows the original sign from the 1959 building that was kept and is now incorporated into the main entrance of the new hall, just look up when going through the front doors.
We’re very fortunate that this year has seen further expansion of the hall to create a new storage area for equipment which will allow for more village events to take place, this is scheduled for completion in the coming weeks.
