Packington Memorial Hall 1944 -1957:
By the inspiration in 1944 of the late Mrs Kate Smerdon. This hall has been erected with funds raised by residents and friends of Packington for the social, recreational and educational enjoyment of the community.
Dedicated to the memory of all those from the village who served and gave their lives in both world wars 1914-18 and 1939-45.
Officially opened by Alderman W.A.Lisney on the 28th June 1958.
Totally Rebuilt in 2009:
Following a fund raising campaign including a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery the hall was entirely rebuilt to become a new modern venue to meet the expanding demands of Packington and the surrounding community. See more information here.
Meeting Room Dedicated in 2025:
Following 35 years of service to the Memorial Hall, including leading the fundraising and supervising the 2009 rebuild, Chris Miles stepped down as chairman of the committee at the AGM. The new committee formed following that AGM deemed it fitting to recognise Chris’ years of service by dedicating the meeting room to him, and from August 2025 it has been known as the “Chris Miles Room”.
