Village Open Afternoon at our Memorial Hall – Saturday 17th June 2 – 4pm

Information on Village Groups, Clubs, Societies, events, and activities will be on display at Memorial Hall from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 17th June 2023.  Plus you can MEET the PEOPLE behind these specialities !

We haven’t staged an event of this size since an Open Evening back in 2019. That seemed to be a major success, with many village people commenting on how they “..just didn’t know..” about all the different activities and societies that take place in Packington.

Some new to our village may never have seen inside our vibrant village hall – here is their chance to see what goes on. You can first check us out on our website, at pmhv.uk

Also four years on from 2019, we estimate one-quarter of the village population were not here then.  New to Packington? So were we, once. Please come along and say hello, or just observe, us and the inside of the Hall . We’d LOVE to see you, and offer you that FREE drink!

Four years further on, there are many thriving village Groups that YOU might enjoy being part of, and which would welcome YOU to come and see what they are and what they do. This is YOUR chance to look around with zero commitment needed.

The Memorial Hall Management Committee invite all village residents to our Annual General Meeting, on Tuesday 15th March, at.. guess where?

The management committee is a group of village residents who want our Hall to continue being the EXCELLENT facility that hosted the wonderful Big Breakfast last Saturday.

It doesn’t run itself! We need help!

Big Charity Breakfast – Major PMHV Event – Saturday 2nd March 2019

This is THE Packington Memorial Hall Venues event, where the whole village has the chance to be part of something REALLY SPECIAL using every part of our Hall – Kitchen, both venues, bar – just come along to Venue 175 and eat a top-level Packington Breakfast, AND / OR help by joining the team of volunteer villagers for just one hour.

Not from Packington? We welcome you as honorary villagers while you enjoy a full Packington Breakfast. Just turn up! All proceeds to charity!

FREE weekly ‘Steady Steps” Class

Starts Thursday 1st November 2018 10:30 am to noon, at Venue 175 – book first

There’s a new initiative starting in Venue 175 – for 24 weeks from Thursday 1st November 2018,  Packington locals can take advantage of a FREE “falls prevention class” for those 65 years and older

  • run by a specialised level 4 instructor
  • seated and standing exercises
  • improve balance, strength and co-ordination
  • helping to minimise the risks of falls
  • session length one hour, each week for 24 weeks
  • and social time, with refreshments provided after the class
  • starts on Thursday 1st November 2018
  • join the course within the first six weeks

Big Packington Charity Breakfast – Saturday 3rd March 2018

Big Breakfast 2018 – Major Village Event

Saturday 3rd March 2018 – 9am to 1pm

Come along to Venue 175 – the larger of the Packington Memorial Hall Venues – and enjoy the “Packington Breakfast”.

  • Choice of all your favourite ingredients £ 7
  • Children’s version, and filled baps, also available £ 3.50

This event offers opportunities to many willing volunteers. Amazing camaraderie is on offer, not to mention banter and joy. You can join the team by offering a one- or two-hour slot.

There are many jobs where you can take part in this village event for an hour or two:

  • cooking
  • making toast
  • serving tea
  • washing up
  • administration

– to mention just a few.

This year the proceeds will be split between:

  • Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, and
  • Harry’s Fund.
